To go almost anywhere, you take the train. This is what it looks like going down/up to/from the train--
You've met Yutaka already, yesterday we met his family and enjoyed the day together. His nieces Nanaka and Ririka, sister Eiko, her husband Koichi, and his mother Sachiko, with whom Chuck, Jame, and I spent time in Nara with Sachiko, Yutaka and her husband Mamoru. Both husbands are now passed, and we share the sad bond of their passing. It felt very good to hold her and hug her close.
Our time together began with lunch--what else! Yutaka knows this city well, and directed us to a favorite curry house:
Excellent!
Nanaka missed the first part of the day, but Ririka and Sam went to J World, an anime theme park.
then shopped and wandered some more.
Here is a special narrow street targeting teenage shoppers--
With several shops selling crepes for snacks
And finally--what you've all been waiting for--Guzman y Gomez--the tacos in Tokyo!
Tha day ended--we could eat no more!! It was a lovely time together, truly.
And there's a sparkling younger generation to continue these traditions and create more of their own:
