Ljubljana--Can you say that three times fast?

What a beautiful old city! Ljubljani (loobyana) is the capital of Slovenia and quite near to Bled. It was a scenic drive of less than an hour's. A city of many bridges, sidewalk cafes and ice cream/gelato vendors. Bill, Mary and I enjoyed all of those, plus one more piece of cream cake, apparently not only the specialty of our own Bled!

There are narrow, winding streets of buildings that quite captivated me, but when I looked at the photos back in Beld, I questioned whether or not you would appreciate them as I do, for they are rather shabby. Then I realized that of course you could re-imagine them in fabric as easily as I can! Someday I'll post them in a new incarnation. For now, here they are:
I have been meaning to mention the forests both in Slovenia and Austria. They are extremely dense and composed of a great variety of species. It makes for a wonderful and varied visual bouquet of shades of green and also of shapes. T'would be quite difficult to render in fabrics, but ah! painting! That's why I need to learn that too!

Tomorrow we return to Munich, hope to see a bit of that grand city, unless we're diverted by something else on the way...
