Though it would be impressive to say we climbed to the summit, we drove most of the way, rode further in a van and walked only the final bit, the view was spectacular, with a monastery on an island in the lake and the valley spread out below.
The frosting on the castle cake was the medieval festival taking place with flags flying through the air, tossed by courtiers--
Exhausted by the spectacle, we re-fortified ourselves with the Bled 'cake' seen in the previous unattached entry (I'll get better at managing this content, probably by the time I return home,) then walked the length and back of Vintgar Gorge,
